Monsoon forests are the tropical deciduous forests that grow where rainfall is moderate (roughly 70-200 cm) with a long dry season, i.e. a semi-humid (sub-humid) climate, and they shed their leaves in the dry months. Evergreen forests belong to the humid zone, while thorn and scrub vegetation belongs to the dry zones.
