Two persons X and Y are at two diametrically opposite points on a circular track. X started running in anticlockwise direction with speed v and Y started running in clockwise direction with speed 2v at the same time. They crossed each other first time in 2 minutes. Then the time (in minutes) required to pass each other second time when the time is counted from the commencement of their running is

Running towards each other their relative speed is 3v and they start half a lap apart, so half the lap = 3v × 2 and the full lap = 12v. To meet again they must together cover one full lap, which takes 12v/3v = 4 more minutes, so the second crossing is at 2 + 4 = 6 minutes from the start.
