A has started a business by investing certain amount. B joined A after 2 months from the commencement of the business by investing 4/3 times A's investment. 2 months after the join of B in the business, C joined A and B by investing 2/3 of A's investment. After giving 8% of the profit to A for managing the business as working partner, the rest of the profit amount is distributed among A, B and C according to their investment proportion. If the total profit at the end of the year is ₹ 25,000, then the total amount received by A from the annual profit (in rupees) is

Capital × months: A = x × 12 = 12x, B = (4/3)x × 10 = 40x/3, C = (2/3)x × 8 = 16x/3, giving the ratio 36 : 40 : 16 = 9 : 10 : 4. A first gets 8% of 25,000 = ₹2,000; from the remaining ₹23,000 A's share is 9/23 × 23,000 = ₹9,000, so A receives 2,000 + 9,000 = ₹11,000 (option 3 forgets the working-partner share).
