A Shopkeeper allows 20% discount on the marked price of every article and gains 16% profit on selling each article. Then how much percent above the cost price is marked on each article ?

Take CP = 100; a 16% profit gives SP = 116. Since SP is 80% of the marked price, MP = 116/0.8 = 145, i.e. the article is marked 45% above the cost price.
కొన్న వెల = 100 అనుకోండి; 16% లాభంతో అమ్మకపు వెల = 116. అమ్మకపు వెల ప్రకటిత వెలలో 80% కాబట్టి, ప్రకటిత వెల = 116/0.8 = 145, అంటే ప్రతి వస్తువుపై కొన్న వెల కంటే 45% ఎక్కువగా ప్రకటిత వెల ఉంటుంది.
