The ages of two children A and B are such that the sum of the values of two times the age of A and 5 times the age of B is six less than the sum of the values of five times the age of A and 2 times the age of B. If the difference of the squares of their ages is 36, then product of their ages is

2A + 5B = (5A + 2B) − 6 gives 3A − 3B = 6, so A − B = 2. Then A² − B² = (A − B)(A + B) = 36 gives A + B = 18, so A = 10, B = 8 and the product of their ages is 80.
