A boat covers a distance of 66 km along the stream in 90 min and the same distance against the stream in 110 min. The speed of the boat in still water is same in both the directions. Then the time required for the boat moving with the same speed to cover the same distance in still water (in minutes) is

Downstream speed = 66 ÷ 1.5 = 44 kmph and upstream speed = 66 ÷ (110/60) = 36 kmph, so the speed in still water is (44 + 36)/2 = 40 kmph. Time for 66 km = 66/40 h = 1.65 h = 99 minutes.
