A, B and C started a business with investments ₹ 1,25,000, ₹ 1,50,000 and ₹ 2,00,000 respectively. Four months later, A further invested ₹ 75,000. After 6 months from the commencement of the business B and C invested certain amounts additionally which are in the ratio 3 : 2. The annual profit received is ₹ 1,20,000 and A's share in the profit is ₹ 28,000. Then the additional amount invested by B (in rupees) is

A's capital-months = 1,25,000 × 12 + 75,000 × 8 = 21,00,000, and A gets 28,000/1,20,000 = 7/30 of the profit, so total capital-months = 21,00,000 × 30/7 = 90,00,000. With additions 3k and 2k for 6 months, 21,00,000 + (18,00,000 + 18k) + (24,00,000 + 12k) = 90,00,000 gives 30k = 27,00,000, k = 90,000, so B added 3k = ₹ 2,70,000.
