P started travelling from A to B and Q started travelling from B to A at 8 a.m on the same day. They both met each other at 2 p.m on their way on the same day. From this time P reached B, 3 1/2 hr before Q reached A. Then the time at which Q reached A is

If two people starting together meet after t hours and then take p and q hours to finish, t² = pq. Here t = 6, so pq = 36 with q − p = 3.5, giving p = 4.5 and q = 8; Q reaches A at 2 p.m + 8 hours = 10 p.m.
