   8 men can do a piece of work in 12 days, 9 women can do the same work in 16 days and 12 children can do it in 24 days. 6 men, 12 women and 18 children started that work and worked together for 3 days. If only women have to complete the remaining work on 4th day, the number of women required is :

   సమాధానం: (2) 54

   The work equals 96 man-days = 144 woman-days = 288 child-days, so the group does 6/96 + 12/144 + 18/288 = 1/16 + 1/12 + 1/16 = 5/24 of the work per day and 15/24 = 5/8 in 3 days. The remaining 3/8 in one day needs n/144 = 3/8, i.e. n = 54 women.

   మొత్తం పని 96 పురుష-రోజులు = 144 స్త్రీ-రోజులు = 288 పిల్లల-రోజులు, కాబట్టి ఆ బృందం రోజుకు 6/96 + 12/144 + 18/288 = 1/16 + 1/12 + 1/16 = 5/24 వంతు పని, 3 రోజులలో 15/24 = 5/8 వంతు పని చేస్తుంది. మిగిలిన 3/8 వంతు పనిని ఒక్క రోజులో పూర్తి చేయడానికి n/144 = 3/8, అంటే n = 54 మంది స్త్రీలు కావాలి.
