Two taps A and B can fill a tank with water in 20 minutes and 15 minutes, respectively. A third tap C can empty the full tank in 6 minutes. After the taps A and B fill the tank for 5 minutes, the tap C is opened to empty while A and B continue to fill it. In how many minutes after the start shall the tank get empty?

Take the tank as 60 units: A fills 3 and B 4 units a minute, while C empties 10, so in the first 5 minutes A and B put in 35 units. Once C is opened the net outflow is 10 - 7 = 3 units a minute, so the tank empties 35/3 = 11 2/3 minutes after C is opened, which is the keyed answer. Counted from the very start the time would be 5 + 11 2/3 = 16 2/3 minutes, which is not among the options. (Official key; some sources differ.)
