A and B start at the same time to reach the same destination. B travelled at 5/7 of A's speed and reached the destination 1 hour 20 minutes after A. What was the time taken by B to reach the destination?

Answer: (1) 4 hours 40 minutes

For the same distance, time is inversely proportional to speed, so B's time : A's time = 7 : 5. The difference of 2 parts is 80 minutes, so 1 part = 40 minutes and B takes 7 × 40 = 280 minutes = 4 hours 40 minutes.
