Rajasthan holds the largest share (just over half) of India's copper ore resources, mainly in the Khetri copper belt of Jhunjhunu district. Madhya Pradesh (Malanjkhand) is the leading producer of copper ore, but its resources are much smaller than Rajasthan's.
