Karewas are lake (lacustrine) deposits of the Kashmir valley, found around Pulwama, Kulgam, Gulmarg, Budgam and Baramulla, and they are famous for saffron (Pampore) and orchards. Palampur is in the Kangra valley of Himachal Pradesh, known for tea, so it is not a Karewa area.
