Gosainthan (Shishapangma, about 8,027 m) is one of the 8,000-metre peaks of the Greater Himalayas (Himadri), lying in Tibet just north of the Nepal border. The Lesser Himalayas and Shiwaliks are much lower ranges to the south, and the Trans-Himalayas lie north of the Indus-Tsangpo line.
