In a row of men and women seated facing North, Lakshmi is 6th from the right and Vishnu is 12th from the right. Among the women Lakshmi is 4th from right and 6th from the left. Among men Vishnu is 7th from right and 24th from left. If Lakshmi and Vishnu interchange their positions, the rank of Vishnu from left among men is

There are 7 + 24 − 1 = 30 men. The 5 seats to the right of Lakshmi hold 3 women, so they hold 2 men. When Vishnu moves to Lakshmi's seat (6th from right), only those 2 men are to his right, so he is 3rd from the right among men, i.e. 30 − 3 + 1 = 28th from the left.
