6 Students S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S6 wrote an entrance exam and the following is the information regarding their marks. Sum of the marks of all is 1000. S3 got more marks than S4 but less than S2. S6 got the least marks among them. 400 marks is the highest mark and 60 marks is the least mark among these six students. The position of the student having highest marks is 1 and the position of the student having least mark is 6. If S1 got 400 marks, S5's position in the list is 2nd from the last, the average marks of last 3 students is 95, then the total marks of S2 and S3 is

S1 (400) is 1st, S6 (60) is 6th and S5 is 5th; since S2 > S3 > S4, they are 2nd, 3rd and 4th. The last three (S4, S5, S6) total 3 × 95 = 285, so S2 + S3 = 1000 - 400 - 285 = 315.
