TGPSC HMWSSB Manager 2015 Paper 2 · Question 48
Question 48 of the TSPSC Manager (Engineering), HMWSSB, 2015: Paper 2 (Civil Engineering) (1 November 2015). Try it first, then open the answer and explanation.
Water flows through a large size pipe. The stagnation pressure and static pressures measured by a pitot tube are 0.3m and 0.24m of water. The velocity of flow in, m/minute is
- 1.08
- 65.00
- 10.8
- 0.65
Show answer
Answer: (2) 65.00
Dynamic head = 0.30 − 0.24 = 0.06 m, so V = √(2gh) = √(2 × 9.81 × 0.06) = 1.085 m/s. In m/minute, V = 1.085 × 60 ≈ 65 m/minute.
