TGPSC HMWSSB Manager 2015 Paper 2 · Question 132
Question 132 of the TSPSC Manager (Engineering), HMWSSB, 2015: Paper 2 (Civil Engineering) (1 November 2015). Try it first, then open the answer and explanation.
A cantilever beam AB is fixed at left end A and free at B. The corresponding conjugate beam will supports ______.
- fixed at A and free at B
- free at A and simple support at B
- free at A and fixed at B
- simple supports at both A and B
Show answer
Answer: (3) free at A and fixed at B
In the conjugate beam a fixed end (zero slope and deflection) becomes a free end, and a free end (with slope and deflection) becomes a fixed end. So a cantilever fixed at A and free at B has a conjugate beam free at A and fixed at B.
