Choose the word opposite in meaning to the underlined word "elementary". The questions were so "elementary" that anyone could pass the test.

    Answer: (4) advanced

"Elementary" means basic and simple, belonging to the first stage of a subject, which is why "anyone could pass the test". Its opposite is "advanced", far on in development or difficulty, as in "elementary and advanced courses". "Primary" is a near-synonym (first, basic), so it cannot be the answer. "Naive" describes a person lacking experience or judgement, and "unusual" means not common or ordinary; neither is the opposite of easy or basic.
