UPSC CAPF AC 2026 Paper 1 · Question 114
Question 114 of the UPSC CAPF (AC) 2026 Paper I (19 July 2026). Try it first, then open the answer and explanation.
Velocity (m/s)-time (s) graph is plotted for the motion of two cars A and B for 10 s, when the cars are initially at rest and acquire final velocities as VA and VB, respectively. The respective straight lines of the graph make angles 30° and 60°, respectively with the x-axis (time). The difference in velocities VB and VA is
- 20/√3 m/s
- 2/√3 m/s
- 3 m/s
- 1 m/s
- 20/√3 m/s
- 2/√3 m/s
- 3 m/s
- 1 m/s

Answer: (1) 20/√3 m/s
उत्तर: (1) 20/√3 m/s
The slope of a v-t graph is the acceleration, so aA = tan 30° = 1/√3 m/s² and aB = tan 60° = √3 m/s². Starting from rest, after 10 s VA = 10/√3 and VB = 10√3, so VB - VA = 10√3 - 10/√3 = (30 - 10)/√3 = 20/√3 m/s (about 11.5 m/s).
