As per the official key, the Bhongir (Bhuvanagiri) sabha of 8-9 March 1997, one of the meetings that revived the separate-Telangana demand in the 1990s, was presided over by Jaini Mallaiah Gupta. Prof. K. Jayashankar was the movement's ideologue but is not keyed as the president of this meeting.
