Konda Laxman Bapuji resigned from the state cabinet in March 1969 in support of the separate Telangana agitation, and as per the official key the body he then founded was the Telangana Congress Samithi. The Telangana Praja Samithi, which led the 1969 agitation, was a separate organisation later headed by M. Chenna Reddy.
