The Ravi was called Iravati (and Parushni in the Rig Veda). Among the other Indus tributaries, the Jhelum was the Vitasta, the Chenab the Asikni and the Beas the Vipasa.
రావి నదిని ఐరావతి అని (ఋగ్వేదంలో పరుష్ణి అని) పిలిచేవారు. ఇతర సింధు ఉపనదులలో జీలంను వితస్తా అని, చీనాబ్ను అసిక్ని అని, బీయాస్ను విపాశ అని పిలిచేవారు.
