The dense, iron-nickel (NIFE) core at the centre of the Earth is also called the barysphere (or centrosphere). The lithosphere is the rigid outer shell, the hydrosphere is the Earth's water, and the mesosphere is a layer of the atmosphere (or of the mantle).
