   The distance between two stations A and B is 480 km. A car started from A. But its speed is reduced by 20 kmph than it's usual speed due to road traffic and the usual time of reaching the destination B is increased by 2 hours. Then the usual duration of the total journey is (in hours) :

   If the usual speed is v km/h, then 480/(v − 20) − 480/v = 2, which simplifies to v(v − 20) = 4800, so v = 80 km/h. The usual time = 480/80 = 6 hours (at 60 km/h it takes 8 hours, 2 hours more).
