The trilingual (Kannada, Telugu and Sanskrit) inscription of Jinavallabha, brother of the Kannada poet Pampa, dated about 945 CE, on Bommalamma Gutta near Kurikyala in Karimnagar district contains the oldest known Telugu kanda padyas and was among the evidence submitted to the Centre for classical (ancient) language status for Telugu.
