Kaloji Narayana Rao, the "Praja Kavi" of Telangana whose birthday (9 September) is observed as Telangana Language Day, was honoured with the Padma Vibhushan in 1992. Dr. C. Narayana Reddy is better known for the Jnanpith Award (1988), and Dasarathi and Andesri did not receive the Padma Vibhushan.
