As per the key, the main objective of Jalaharam was to supply drinking water, not water for industry, irrigation or rain-water saving. In 2014-15 the Telangana government's flagship drinking-water plan was the Telangana Water Grid (renamed Mission Bhagiratha in December 2015), meant to supply safe piped drinking water to every household.
