Impatiens is the balsam genus of flowering plants. Impatiens karuppusamyi is a new rock-dwelling balsam herb described by BSI researchers from the Kalakad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve in the southern Western Ghats of Tamil Nadu, so the fungus, bat and aquatic-flora options are wrong.
