The age of Krishna is 13 years and that of Veda is 11 years. Then the amount invested for Veda must be :

    1. ₹ 28,204
    2. ₹ 28,640
    3. ₹ 26,840
    4. ₹ 28,460

    2. ₹ 28,640

    Answer: (2) ₹ 28,640

    The amount invested is ₹63,294. Krishna's share compounds for 5 years and Veda's for 7, so equal maturity values need Krishna's share = Veda's × (1.1)² = 1.21 × Veda's. Then 2.21 × Veda's share = 63,294, which gives Veda's share ≈ ₹28,640.
