In Mission Shakti (March 2019) India's ASAT missile destroyed a live satellite in Low Earth Orbit, making India the fourth country after the USA, Russia and China with this capability; the test was done in the lower part of LEO (about 300 km) so that the debris would decay quickly, not in the "upper atmosphere".
