With x one-rupee, y two-rupee and z five-rupee coins: x + 2y + 5z = 960 and 2x + y + 5z = 920 give y = x + 40. Using x + y + z = 300 gives z = 260 − 2x; substituting, 3x + 80 + 5(260 − 2x) = 960, so x = 60, y = 100 and z = 140.
