During cell division the spindle fibres attach to the kinetochore, a protein structure formed on the centromere of each chromosome, and pull the chromatids towards the poles. The chromonema is the coiled chromatin thread, the telomere is the end of a chromosome, and the centriole is an organelle that helps organise the spindle in animal cells, not a region of the chromosome.
