Which one among the following laws states that magnetic monopoles do not exist?

    1. Gauss' law
    2. Newton's law
    3. Pascal's law
    4. Ampere's law

    Answer: (1) Gauss' law

Gauss' law for magnetism says the net magnetic flux through any closed surface is zero, because magnetic field lines always form closed loops; hence an isolated north or south pole (a magnetic monopole) cannot exist. Ampere's law relates a magnetic field to the current producing it, while Newton's and Pascal's laws deal with motion and fluid pressure.
