   Let the end digits be a and the middle digits b. The 13 odd-place digits are the two a's and 11 b's, and the 12 even-place digits are all b, so the 11-test difference is (2a + 11b) - 12b = 2a - b, which must be 0 or ±11. a = 9 works with b = 7, a = 8 with b = 5 and a = 4 with b = 8, but a = 5 would need b = 10 or -1, so the end digit cannot be 5.
