If A takes t days, B takes 3t, and 3t − t = 60 gives t = 30, so B alone needs 90 days. Together they do 1/30 + 1/90 = 2/45 of the work per day, so 1/3 of the work takes (1/3) ÷ (2/45) = 7.5 days; B then does the remaining 2/3 in 2/3 × 90 = 60 days, a total of 67.5 days.
