In a cylindrical vessel of height 14 cm and radius 5 cm, seven spheres of radius 3 cm were kept. The amount of water that fills the cylindrical vessel is (in cubic cm)

Cylinder volume = 22/7 × 5² × 14 = 1,100 cubic cm and the seven spheres take 7 × 4/3 × 22/7 × 3³ = 792 cubic cm. The water needed to fill the remaining space is 1,100 − 792 = 308 cubic cm.
