The Compound interest on a certain sum for 2 years is ₹1,512 and Simple interest is ₹1,440. If the sum is invested such that the Simple interest is ₹2,592 and the number of years is equal to the rate of interest per annum, then find the rate ?

SI of ₹1,440 for 2 years is ₹720 a year; CI − SI = ₹72 = 720 × r/100, so r = 10% and the sum is ₹7,200. Then 7,200 × R × R/100 = 2,592 gives R² = 36, so the rate is 6%.
