Doddi Komaraiah, an Andhra Mahasabha (Sangham) activist, was shot dead at Kadavendi in Jangaon taluk by armed men of the Visnur deshmukh. The Sangham was resisting the deshmukh's attempt to seize a poor washerwoman's (Chakali Ailamma's) land, and Komaraiah's killing sparked the Telangana armed struggle.
